This was an OK read. Some things the author should have researched more before using them in his story. For instance, his repeated mention of "MP-5 semiautomatic machine guns" indicates to me he has no understanding of firearms but wanted to work that sinister sounding oxymoronic description into the story. The story was fast-paced and the plot generally interesting, but many occurrences stretched the boundaries of believability. This was an acceptable rainy-day read as long as you don't over-analyze it.Product details

I loved Robin Cook's medical mysteries and was so thrilled to find another series of books along the same line! If you like intrigue, a little romance, and an intelligent mystery don't miss reading this one! I thoroughly enjoyed all of L. Jan Eira's books!
Highly recommend this book to those that love medical mysteries. Well written and unexpected twists and turns throughout the book.
This book will keep you involved and guessing all the way through, with an interesting twist ending. I look forward to reading more books by this author, as this was very well written and engaging.
I can't remember the last time I read a book that had me all "tied up" because it was so suspenseful. Each time I thought I knew how the book was going to go next, I discovered I needed to go in a different direction. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book!
I have never heard of this author but his book was great. The only thing I didn't like was the foul language the police Lieutenant used. The characters Ben and Amy were great. I do enjoy a good mystery and this book really kept you on the edge of your seat.
I purchased this book based on the listed reviews, I cannot tell you how disappointed I am. I feel the plot was inane, the story contained a cast of many, it was dragged out far too long. It was so implausible that it couldn't hold my interest. However I did plod through to the predictable end. I would not recommend to my friends.
I enjoyed reading this medical thriller. Does not give away the ending and every piece falls into place like a good puzzle at the end. More than your typical detective barges in and shoots murderer to save someone's life. No there is still something more that has to be done and I liked that little bit extra drama. Does have a large cast of characters, but then the last fifty pages really draws you in as the killer is slowly weeded out from the other suspects. The killer does have some motivation for the way he is, and I liked that, although they are still a sick person. You'll also be a little smarter after reading this, unless you are a doctor already, I never knew gallbladders did that.
